Levi’s jeans feel as American as apple pie. They’re classic. And while Levi’s is by no means a fresh, new brand, it is doing an excellent job of staying cool and current. The newest Levi’s commercial, “Just Don’t Bore Them,” is one of the few commercials that I’m willing to watch from start to finish in today’s Netflix, OnDemand, commercial-free era.

They are what you make of them; so much so that your Levi’s are an extension of you, of your mood, of your intention. Sexual or silly. Angry or aggressive. Dance in them. Strut in them. Work in them. Run in them. Roll in them. And as the title of the commercial reads, “Just don’t bore them.”

I recently bought a new pair of Levi’s after not having bought one in two years, which caused me to reflect upon the fact that it wasn’t that I’d lost interest in the jeans, but rather that my other pair had proven durable, hip, and incredibly comfortable all this time. This commercial is just a testament to the brand’s recognition that it’s demographic isn’t a single group, such as men 18 to 24 or “Moms.” Levi’s are an almost universally accepted brand and this commercial cultivates that widespread appreciation by reaching people of all ages, genders, races and ethnicities.
